Llegamos a La Infinito gracias a la pista de un artículo de El País que hablaba de los nuevos “viveros de lectores” madrileños, atraidas por su declaración de intenciones: café, libros y arte. Las librerías-café se multiplican en Madrid y nosotras, a diferencia de otras modas, las recibimos con alegría. Cada una tiene su propia personalidad, su momento: La Infinito tiene luz a raudales y una tranquilidad especial, un selecto hilo musical y buen café (Illy) y té (que compran, como nosotras, en Tea Time). La Infinito es especialista en desayunos infinitos, con sus tostadas de pan de pueblo (de pueblo castellano), su repostería (con tartas caseras, alguna vegana) y sus zumos naturales. De vez en cuando, algún domingo, organizan el “brunch musical”: desayuno y música en directo, una combinación exquisita.

En las estanterías de la Infinito hay libros nuevos y de segunda mano, y en las paredes fotografías y cuadros itinerantes, pero quizás este sitio se acerque más a un café, a un lugar de encuentro, que a una librería tradicional. Si estáis atentos a su facebook os enteraréis de todo lo que se cuece aquí, un montón de actividades interesantes, como los “English Café“, clases de inglés modernizadas, o proyecciones de cine y talleres.

Un nuevo rincón a tener en cuenta entre Antón Martín y Lavapiés, muy cerquita de la Filmoteca y La Marabunta. Estamos seguras de que os va a encantar.

We first heard about La Infinito reading an article on new “readers greenhouses” in Madrid, and we were thrilled by their standards: coffee, books and art. Many café-bookstores are opening their doors in Madrid lately, and we, unlike other trends, are so happy to embrace them. Each one with its own personality, with a right time: La Infinito has lots of light, a special peaceful atmosphere, a fine & mellow background music and great coffee (Illy) and tea (bought at Tea Time, just like us). La Infinito is a specialist on infinite breakfasts, made with traditional bread toasts, some home-made cakes -including vegan- and fresh juices. Some sundays they also organize a musical brunch: breakfast and live music, what an exquisit combination.

On La Infinito’s shelves you can find new and second-hand books and on its walls temporary exhibitions of photography and paintings, but this is maybe more a café, a place for encounter, than a traditional bookshop. Follow them on facebook to keep you updated on their agenda, full of interesting activities like the “English Café“, another way of learning english and meeting people, cinema and workshops.

This is definitely a very cool spot in the neighbourhood between Antón Martín and Lavapiés, very close to “La Filmoteca” (the oldest cinema in Madrid) and La Marabunta. We are pretty sure that you will love it.
