En pleno corazón madrileño del cine en versión original está la librería Ocho y Medio, todo un clásico tras 15 años especializados en toda clase de libros sobre, por y para el cine en varios idiomas. Este lugar es sin duda especial, no sólo por sus miles de libros, sino también por los curiosos objetos que venden: aquí encontrarás el regalo perfecto para los amantes del séptimo arte, fotos de rodajes, atrezzos, máscaras, carteles de cine, y muchas cosas más. Pero esta librería que toma su nombre de Fellini es, como sus películas, mucho más. Es también un café donde pasar una tarde de cine entre libros, clientela y mobiliario variopintos, desde sillones a mesas y tocadores de película. En días de buen tiempo es mejor sentarse en la terraza que instalan en la calle Martín de los Heros -ahora peatonal- y observar al personal que circula por la zona. Pero no es todo, el local guarda una sorpresa: los intrépidos que lleguen hasta el final del pasillo (al fondo a la derecha) encontrarán una segunda librería, llamada El Gatopardo, que en sus estanterías guarda libros muy bien seleccionados que van desde novelas a ensayos, biografías, libros sobre arte, y es al mismo tiempo un café íntimo y acogedor, llamado Via Margutta Café. En definitiva, un lugar repleto de sorpresas, inspiración asegurada.

Plaza de España is the heart of original version movie theaters in Madrid, and there it is Ocho y Medio bookshop, an all-time-favorite after 15 years specialized in all kind of books about cinema, available in several languages. This place is undoubtedly special not only because of its thousands of books but also for the curious memorabilia they sell: in here you will find the perfect gift for seventh art lovers, pictures of movie shoots, atrezzos, masks, movie posters, among other things. But this bookshop that takes its name after Fellini is, as his movies, a lot more. It’s also a café where you will enjoy spending the whole afternoon surrounded by books, eclectic visitors and furniture like sofas, tables and boudoirs. If the weather is good, we prefer sitting outside in one of the four tables they set on the pedestrian street, in front of the movie theatres. But that’s not all, the place is also keeping a secret: intrepid visitors who reach the end of the corridor (down the hall to the right) will find a second bookshop called El Gatopardo with a very special selection of books, ranging from novels to assays, biographies, or art books, which is also at the same time an intimate and charming café named Via Margutta. In a word, a place full of surprises where you will find inspiration guaranteed.
